CRIMINAL DEFENSE

I aggressively represent clients charged with crimes in state and federal court. I have never been a prosecutor nor ever had such a desire. To my disbelief, some criminal defense lawyers boldly advertise their former careers as prosecutors. I learned how to defend clients by defending them not by putting them in the jail. When I was a child and my friends wanted to be police officers, I wanted to be a lawyer. I went to law school to become a criminal defense lawyer. When I graduated, I went to work for the best criminal defense lawyer in town. I have also attended the National Criminal Defense College in Macon, Georgia.

I represent clients charged with any crime in the Commonwealth of Virginia or in the United States District Court including but not limited to: murder, manslaughter, malicious and unlawful wounding, assault and battery, robbery, breaking and entering, sex crimes including rape and child pornography, computer crimes, grand and petty larceny, embezzlement, destruction of property, drug distribution and possession, underage possession of alcohol, firearm offenses including unlawful discharge or possession by a felon and crimes against minors including neglect and contributing.

I will give you a free consultation and evaluation of your case. Don’t go into court alone or poorly represented. You may not get a second chance. Call me today.

"In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defense."

SIXTH AMENDMENT

The right to representation by counsel is not a formality. It is not a grudging gesture to a ritualistic requirement. It is of the essence of justice. Kent v. United States, 383 U.S. 541 (1966)
